About Lance Rankin
North Texas Hail Guy is Lance Rankin, MBA, operating as Rankin Industries, LLC from 4000 Haslet Roanoke Road, Suite 112, Roanoke, Texas 76262. He inspects hail-damaged vehicles free of charge, builds a written panel-by-panel damage record and a paintless dent repair estimate, can attend the insurer's inspection as the repair shop's estimator, and prepares supplemental estimates when damage is missed. He is not a licensed public insurance adjuster and does not file, adjust or negotiate insurance claims — the vehicle owner does that. He does not own a repair shop and is paid a commission by the repair facility on placed work.

North Texas Hail Guy does not file, adjust, negotiate or settle insurance claims and does not represent you in dealings with your insurance company. What I do is inspect and document hail damage and prepare a written paintless dent repair estimate. I am paid a commission by the repair facility when a vehicle is repaired there.
What I actually do
I look at hail-damaged cars and trucks and I write down exactly what is wrong with them, in enough detail that an insurance estimate can be checked against it. That is the entire business.
It exists because of a gap. Body shops are good at fixing cars and are not set up to count dents panel by panel before a claim exists. Adjusters are working fast across a lot of vehicles in bad light. And the owner has done this maybe twice in their life. Somebody has to be the person who counted the dents before anyone wrote a number down, and that person cannot be in a hurry.
Why I do not name my repair partner
Because I want to be able to stop using them. I place work with a paintless dent repair facility I have vetted, and if the quality drops or they stop dealing straight with me, I move. That is only possible if my name is not welded to theirs on a website. You will be told exactly where your vehicle is going before you hand over the keys — I just will not promise a shop to the whole internet in advance.
Things I will not say to you
- That I am handling your claim. I am not, and in Texas I cannot. A person paid on the repair may not act as the insured's representative in a claim — that is what Insurance Code chapter 4102 is about. You file, you decide, you stay in control. I document.
- That I offer a lifetime warranty. I do not. Others in this market advertise one; I am not the party performing the repair, so I will not stand behind a promise that is not mine to make.
- That you get a free rental car. You get one if your policy carries rental reimbursement. That is your coverage, not my gift.
- That your deductible will vanish. Here is the long version of why.
- That a hail claim can never affect your rates. Texas protects homeowners from weather-claim surcharges; there is no auto equivalent. Ask your agent.

A note on reviews
This is a new business and it does not have customer reviews yet. Rather than pad the site with testimonials of uncertain origin, I have left the space empty and put the effort into publishing things you can check instead: NOAA storm data, statutory citations, published price ranges. When there are reviews, they will be real ones with names attached.
Questions people actually ask
Are you a body shop?
No. I inspect the vehicle, document the damage and write the repair estimate. The paintless dent repair itself is done by a partnered North Texas facility that I select and monitor. And I am not an insurance adjuster either — you file and control your own claim.
Why not just go straight to a shop?
You can, and sometimes that is the right answer. What a shop generally will not do is spend an hour building a panel-by-panel dent map before the claim exists, stand at the vehicle when the adjuster looks at it, and write up the supplemental estimate afterwards. That gap is the job.
What does the MBA have to do with hail?
Nothing glamorous. It means I am comfortable building a document that holds up under scrutiny and being organized about a process with a lot of moving parts. That is most of what goes wrong on hail claims.
How do you get paid?
I am paid a commission by the repair facility on work I place with them. You do not pay me anything. I am telling you this because you should know how everyone in this chain makes money before you decide to trust any of them — and because it is exactly why I cannot and do not act as your representative with your insurance company.
